The Sevierville Police and Fire Departments responded to a reported traffic accident with injuries at the intersection of Allensville Road and Old Douglas Dam Road at about 5:45 p.m. Friday, September 19th.
According to SPD Officer Tim Coulter, a 2001 Ford Escape was traveling south on Old Douglas Dam Road and apparently failed to stop at the intersection with Allensville Road. The Escape went into the intersection and was hit by a 1995 Toyota 4 Runner that was traveling east on Allensville Road. The collision caused the Escape to turn over onto its top.
The driver of the Escape, 46-year old Romona Ogle of Sevierville, was trapped briefly in her vehicle, but uninjured. She was cited for reckless driving and failure to obey a traffic control device.
The driver of the 4 Runner, Shawna Fox, 29, of Pigeon Forge, was transported to Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center by the Sevier County Ambulance Service. Her husband, Jeff Fox, 30, was also transported to FSSMC. Their 16-month old daughter was apparently uninjured.
