Sevierville got some love on Friday afternoon when more than 700 people showed up for the annual “I Love Sevierville” luncheon. The event has been sponsored in the past by the city’s Downtown Association. This year the group partnered with Sevierville’s Sunrise Rotary Club.
“We helped sell a few more plates than they have in the past,” said Rotary President Glenn Turner. Last year the event sold around 500 plates, but orders closed in on 800 this year.
Many local business employees, county officials and courthouse workers went out to enjoy the lunch by the courthouse band stand. They were treated to live music and door prizes during the drop by affair that ran from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.
“This was such a beautiful day for it, “ said one diner. “I’ve came last year but this is one of those perfect days to visit with everybody you run into during the day around here.”
