The new Boyds Creek Animal Hospital has a unique saying, “We have warm hearts for cold noses.” The new clinic recently opened at 11612 Chapman Hwy. in Seymour complete with separate dog and cat waiting rooms, a dental lab and boarding facilities. “We tried to make the clinic feel like a home,” stated Dr. Laura Dezlin. “People can tell we care about their pets and the homey feeling relives stress in the animal when they come in. Dezlin graduated from UT Veterinary School in 2000. She uses a PC tablet when going into the examining room to show people what is wrong with their pets. “With the computer system we have set up I can print out information to give to people to take home about their pets needs” said Dezlin.
Dezlin said she has always wanted to be a veterinarian. “I’m crazy about animals. My grand dad was a doctor and I was always hanging around with him. My dad was a Health Officer so I really grew up around medicine.” Originally from New Jersey, Dezlin has lived in the Knoxville area for eight years. Her previous employment was working for Bio Tech Company. “We prepared tissue for transplants.”
The office offers an isolation area for sick pets and the cat holding area has “an ocean view” with a fish bowl with fish nearby.
“We offer a full pharmacy and our prices are very competitive and we are very companionate. We’re committed to providing a high level of care. Our clinic is for people with a heart for animals” stated Dezlin. For more information on Boyds Creek Animal Hospital you can call 577-2738.
