Beads and bangles can now be found at a new shop in Governor’s Crossing. “Just Bead It” was opened last month by a 23-year old entrepreneur from Seymour. Anna Hammond has been beading for several years and decided to take her talent and knowledge to the public by opening a new shop in Sevierville.
The popularity of beading has quickly spread across the nation and now Sevier County also has a local shop for beading enthusiasts. Beading is the art of making your own jewelry using beads, stones and findings. Necklaces, bracelets and earrings can be made to suit the individual taste.
So Bead It carries hand-blown glass beads, cat-eyes, glass beads and a variety of imported African beads. Some of the most popular stone beads include jade, coral, quartz and turquoise. Necessary tools and accessories for bead construction are available, including crimping tools, jewel-nosed pliers, clippers, memory wires, nylon-coated stainless steel cord and all types of clasps.
At So Bead It, you can come in, select your beads, sit down at one of the large round tables and actually construct your project. If you need advice or assistance, Hammond is available.
In addition to instruction and the use of bead boards, Hammond also offers birthday parties for children. Cake, soft drinks and helium balloons are provided while each child has an opportunity to make a memory wire bracelet and necklace. Bridal parties, Scout troops, cheerleaders or just a girl’s-night-out group can call and reserve after-hours parties.
Bracelets and necklaces using school colors and mascots are a fall specialty; as well as customized jewelry for bridal attendants and personalized engagement jewelry. Hammond is always near by to offer suggestions and knowledge on how to use the beading boards or other equipment.
Hammond graduated from King’s Academy and has an Associate Degree from Pellissippi State. She has a list of things that she wants to do in life and owning a business was on the list. She states, she “has been blessed with parents who have helped and supported” her.

Watch Class-August 21 & September 23; Beginning Beaders-August 26 & September 18; Right Angle Weave—September 4; Beginning Wire Warp- September 9.
