Great Smoky Mountain Chamber of Commerce will truly miss one of their employees, Bishop William Loudy Redmon of Sevierville, who went to be with the Lord Monday June 23, 2003. A World War II veteran, he served in the Army and was a Bishop in the Church of God. He was known to many here in Sevier County as ‘Pops.’
When the doors opened at the Great Smoky Mountain Chamber of Commerce he was by the side of his daughter Annette, who is the President, and his son also a salesman for the chamber. They worked well and made many new friends. Redmon welcomed people to the Chamber family. “We are a close knit bunch of people – you were not just a member but you became a member of the chamber family,” stated Annette. Services were held at New Hope Church of God on Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevierville Friday, June 27. Bishop Redmon was laid to rest by his beloved wife in South Carolina.
