Jonas Smeltzer, the Sevier County Road Superintendent, in an effort to reduce the increasing traffic on Chapman Highway, has nearly completed widening and repaving several roads in the Seymour area.
“We have widened and paved Thomas Road and Black Oak Ridge Road between Cherokee Hills Road and Macon Lane,” stated Smeltzer. “We felt the residents of Cherokee Hills and surrounding areas would be able to get to the Macon Crossing Shopping Center without having to go onto Chapman Highway.”
“We’ve noticed that East Macon Lane has received more traffic and therefore have also begun work on adding tile, widening the road and repaving there as well.”
