Seymour split a Friday tennis match with Carter at Tyson’s Park. The boys took a commanding 9-0 win over the Green Hornets, and the girls lost a close 5-4 decision.
The SHS boys swept the singles in order. (1) Chris O’Barr defeated Derek Doane 6-1, (2) Drew Stokes won 6-1 over Sidney Schaad, and Matt Davenport won the three spot 6-1 over Aaron Kaiser Joseph Laurent picked up a 6-0 win in the four spot, while (5)Kevin Thomas won 6-2 and Jason Maples(6) 6-1 win closed out the singles matches.
O’Barr and Davenport teamed up to win the top singles spot 7-5 in the closest set of the match. Stokes and Josh French dominated in a 6-0 win in the second doubles spot and Laurent and Nathan Julian took the three spot 6-1 to cap off a solid effort by the Eagles.
Erin O’Connor won the top slot for the Lady Eagles with a 6-0 win, however Casey Byrne (4-6), Kristin Vadergriff (0-6), Sarah Hively (3-6), and Savannah Finchum (6-8) fell. Jessica Brown picked up a 6-3 win at the six spot to end the singles with SHS trailing 2-4. Carter picked up the win with a win over O’Conner and Byrne in the top doubles. Vandergriff and Hively teamed up for a 7-5 win while Jessie Boax and Many England won 6-1.
The Eagle tennis teams duel with the King’s Academy on Tuesday.

The Lions lost 2-7 and the Lady Lions fell 0-9.
The King’s Academy’s Mike Grubb (6-4) won a singles match for TKA. Clement Kdikuyeve and Shawn Irwin (6-2) won a doubles point for the Lions.
