The 2002 Merchant of the Year award given by Tennessee State Bank’s Super 60 Club recently went to Carl Hatcher Furniture Co. This is the second year in a row that Marty and Becky Duncan, owners of the furniture store, have received the distinction from the club.
Robin Waters of Tennessee State Bank presented the award on March 11th at a luncheon hosted by Tennessee State Bank’s Super 60 Club. The bank’s Super 60 Club members select the winner. Nominees are chosen from a merchant directory that is published by Tennessee State Bank with businesses that give Super 60 Club members discounts.
Todd Proffitt, President and CEO of Tennessee State Bank was pleased that such a long-time customer of the bank was selected for the honor. “Carl Hatcher Furniture, Co. has been with Tennessee State Bank since we opened our doors in 1972. Carl Hatcher and his family have been an important part of the success of Tennessee State Bank and I am pleased that the members of our Super 60 Club have recognized them with this award,” says Proffitt.
When asked about winning for the second time in a row, Marty Duncan said, “We appreciate the confidence that the Super 60 Club members place in our business and the influence they have on the community.”
