Seymour Community Christian School hosted the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools Regional Teachers’ Clinic on Monday, February 17. Sixty-three teachers and administrators from Temple Baptist Academy, Knoxville Baptist Christian School, Calvary Baptist School of Kingston, and Mt. Pisgah Christian School attended the Clinic. The teachers attended four workshops conducted by Dr. Charles Walker, executive director of TACS, Tony Walker, assistant director of TACS, and Jeff Rector, Assistant Education Director of the American Association of Christian Schools.
Dr. Walker’s session, “What Successful Teachers Do,” encouraged teachers to think outside the box to improve their teaching. Dr. Walker gave several research-based strategies to help students succeed. Tony Walker addressed the topic, “Dealing with Students Who Drive you Crazy.”
He stated teachers needed to know what drives them crazy and rise above it. He offered several helpful tips and insights.
After lunch and a time of fellowship between the teachers and administrators, Jeff Rector concluded the clinic with the topic, “Saying the Right Thing the Right Way.” He spoke of the importance of good communication in any organization.
