Traffic backs up on Boyd’s Creek Road as troopers work to clear the accident.

An accident involving an alleged DUI driver occurred Friday afternoon near the intersection of Chapman Highway and Boyd’s Creek at approximately 3:00 p.m. just as school was getting out.
Tennessee State Troopers responding to an auto accident call found a late model silver Dodge Caravan had run off the road by the Seymour Heights Christian Church. The driver was given a field sobriety test by the troopers and then transported to a local holding facility where he was to be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Tennessee State Master Trooper Arthur Galyon told the Herald that the driver had failed the field sobriety test.
No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the accident, and there were no injuries.
