Newly-opened in December 2002, Seymour’s newest full-service salon, Salon de JaaS offers all the latest styles in a relaxing atmosphere. Salon owner and operator Jennifer Rice brings many years of experience and expertise to the local area, with foil weaving, highlight and lowlight, blade cutting, nail design in pink and white acrylics, tanning, makeup for special occasions, color analysis and more. Specializing in all the latest styling trends, Jennifer has established her business in Seymour with strong word-of-mouth advertising and the walking testimonials that her customers become after their makeovers.
Jennifer’s styles have made a dramatic difference in the area, as she provides the most modern looks and techniques available. Though recent weather has put a cramp in businesses throughout Seymour, her consistently high-quality designs have led to the steady increase in receipts that hallmark a rising talent.
Her new salon is clean and well lit, with trays of fruit and light snacks on a sideboard with fresh hot coffee and soothing music playing in the background. Jennifer’s conversational style is warm and welcoming, immediately putting the customer at ease and helping to elicit from them the relaxed attitude essential to creating the style that best fits their personality and special needs.
Though her business is new, Jennifer is no stranger to the area, having plied her trade in the West Knoxville area and in Sevierville. Sharing a home with her husband and two children, she’s using her talents to establish herself as a potent force in the local styling business. The salon’s Grand Opening, held Monday, February 3, introduced the general public to the wide array of services Jennifer makes available.
Jennifer hopes to continue growing her new enterprise by offering the best and newest designs in the area, and will be offering specials as the all-important prom season approaches. Updos for the prom-goers will be discounted to a special price – only $30 for Seymour 8th grade and Senior Prom ladies.
“The salon is a work in progress,” Jennifer says, gesturing around the spotless styling area, “And we’ll be making improvements in it as time goes on. I’m excited about the steady forward steps we’re making, and about what the future holds.”
The Salon de Jaas is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will remain open on Thursday evenings until the last customer is served. Reservations are accepted, walk-ins are welcome, and the salon will soon be open on Saturdays as well. The salon can be reached during business hours at (865) 609-6005.
