On Feburary 4, 2003, a committee selected the following teachers as 2002-2003 Teacher of the Year. They will represent Sevier County at the district and state levels, competing for the 2004 Tennessee Teacher of the Year.
Secondary Teacher (grades 9-12): Elaine Wilson, Gatlinburg-Pittman High School.
Middle Grades Teacher (grades 5-8): Nancy Rader, New Center Elementary.
Primary Grades Teacher (grades K-4): Robyn Hosler, Seymour Primary School.
