A fire broke out in a mobile home located at 1668 East Union Valley Road in Seymour. The residence is listed to Gene Scarbro. There were no occupants in the structure and no one was injured.
The call came in to 911 operators at approximately 11:45 Sunday morning, February 02.
Seymour Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene, and found 50% of the mobile home was already engulfed in flames.
Former Seymour Volunteer Fire Department Chiefs J.B. Johnson and Jerry Clark were also at the fire. “I was heading home and noticed thick black smoke near when I was, so I immediately tried to get here to see if anyone inside needed help as I had just heard the call on the scanner,” stated Johnson.
