In a joint statement released by Joseph Karl, Publisher of the Seymour Herald and Norbert Stovall, CEO of Chartbuster Karaoke they announced that they have finalized plans and will begin publishing the “Karaoke Singer News”. Distributed nationally through the mail, Internet, and retail outlets the new publication will feature editorial content and advertising. Norbert Stovall, Chartbuster Karaoke’s Chief Executive, has more than 30 years experience in the recording industry. His company is the recognized leader in the production and distribution of Karaoke soundtracks. Joseph Karl, owner of Herald Newspapers, has been in the publishing business since the mid-seventies and has published newspapers and magazines with regional and national distribution.
Mr. Stovall says, “We have long recognized that there has been a lack of quality information available to the casual, recreational, and non-professional singer. Our company has contacts with thousands of singers around the world. By joining forces with Joe’s organization we are going to produce a terrific publication that will bring together and build a community of people who love to sing.”
Publisher Karl says “This is a wonderful opportunity to create a new publication that is packed full of useful information. Our editorial content will include columns written by recording industry experts and KJ’s from around the country. We’ll feature the latest news, events and trends, Karaoke trivia and tips as well as locator maps and special travel packages to Karaoke venues all over the country.”
Anthony Lambert, Production Manager for the Herald Newspapers and David O’Brien, Director of Business Development for Chartbuster Karaoke are collaborating to create a 48-page newspaper tabloid that will be produced using the latest print and photography technologies. Lambert says, “We anticipate using full color in every section and will draw upon the experience of producing 2 weekly newspapers to create an esthetically appealing and easy to read publication”.
Mr. O’Brien, who is overseeing the project for Chartbuster Karaoke comments that the “Karaoke Singer News will premiere in April, 2003. 40,000 issues will be sent through the mail to Chartbuster customers and retailers who cater to people of all ages who just happen to love music and love to sing, whether it’s in the car, in the shower, or on a stage at the local cafe.” As to advertising content, he says it will be pertinent to the casual singer’s interests. “Enthusiasm is high among the technology and equipment suppliers, as well as those businesses that serve the entertainment industry. We anticipate a strong classified section that will become the first place singers look to for quality goods and services.”
