The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has confirmed that Thomas Daniel Pearson has been arrested in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, on a fugitive warrant from Tennessee. Special Agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation made the arrest today at 8:30 a.m. MST. Upon his return to Tennessee, Pearson, age 37, will be served with warrants charging him with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder in Humphreys County. Pearson is wanted for the November 15, 2002, murder of Danny DeBerry and attempted murder of Joy DeBerry of New Johnsonville.
After viewing a composite of the suspect drawn by a TBI Special Agent/Forensic Scientist, a citizen provided the TBI with information that led to Pearson’s identification. At the time of his arrest Pearson used one of his numerous aliases. Several agencies assisted numerous TBI agents in locating Pearson, including the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Alabama Bureau of Investigation, New Mexico State Police, Humphreys County Sheriff’s Department and the New Johnsonville Police Department. Pearson is being held by the Jefferson County, Colorado Sheriff’s Office in Golden, Colorado.
TBI also confirmed that Kenneth Bernard Hill, age 32, one of the TBI’s Most Wanted Fugitives, was arrested today at approximately 2:30 p.m. EST in Chattanooga, TN, by Special Agents of the TBI, members of the Chattanooga Police Department’s Fugitive Division and members of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department’s Fugitive Division. Hill was wanted for first degree murder in Shelby County, TN, and aggravated robbery and six counts of aggravated assault in Hamilton County, TN. He is currently being held in the Hamilton County jail.
Hill was added to the TBI Most Wanted program on November 8, 2002, at the request of the Shelby County Sheriffs Department and the Hamilton County Sheriffs Department and becomes the 115th fugitive apprehended since the program’s inception on May 1, 1993. They have been apprehended in 24 states and the Province of Ontario in Canada.
