If you’re looking for a job, the Five Rivers Regional Career Center has several February workshops that will help you in your search. The workshops are offered at no cost to participants and everyone is welcome.
Located at 6057 W. Andrew Johnson Highway in Alpha Square shopping center, the Career Center houses several area service agencies. Staff members are available from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Department of Human Services, Rehabilitation Services and Adult Education as well as Workforce Investment Act staff from Walters State Community College.

February courses include:
Computer Literacy Part 1 – Feb. 4, 5 – 7 p.m. and Feb. 6 and 20, 9 – 11 a.m.
Computer Literacy Part 2 – Feb. 11, 5 – 7 p.m. and Feb. 13 and 27, 9 – 11 a.m.
Basic Employment/Career Decision Making – Feb. 5, 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Resume Lab – Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2 – 4 p.m.
Job Club – Feb. 10 and 24, 9 – 10 a.m.
Basic Job Search, Feb. 12 – 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Basic Resume and Cover Letter Development – Feb. 19, 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Impressive Application – Feb. 25, 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Job Search Thru Internet – Feb. 25, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Interviewing Techniques – Feb. 26, 10 – 11:30 a.m.

In addition to the workshops, the center regularly provides assistance to individuals searching for jobs and helps employers connect with potential employees. It also streamlines the job training process by combining several different employment services under one roof, such as those offered through the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Tennessee Technology Center, the Department of Human Services, Adult Education Program, and Workforce Investment. All services are free to anyone who is at least 18 years old and a United States Citizen.
