‘Man’s best friend’ came to school to get some treats!
Tish Wright, President of the Sevier County Animal Shelter, brought two puppies and a kitten to the Seymour Primary School to thank the 80 students in the Multiage 1-2 classes for their outstanding recent contributions of pet foods and cleaning supplies.
“I was absolutely amazed at the huge cartload of dried and canned dog food, cat food, kitty litter, and trash bags that all these children collected,” Miss Wright exclaimed. “There had to be hundreds of dollars worth of treats.”
The puppies and kitten delighted the children with their friendly antics in the classrooms of Mrs. Flynn, Mrs. Rumph, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Deremer, Mrs. Knight, Mrs. Sise, Mrs. Jacklett, and Mrs. Mynatt.
You could almost hear the appreciative responses of those small animals as they licked the children’s faces and frolicked on the carpet. “Thanks, kids! Arf, arf. Meow, meow.”
