Knoxville TN – During the holiday, many people are reminded of loved ones who are no longer around to share in family gatherings. One way to honor these memories is to make a memorial gift to the American Cancer Society.
“During this season of giving, a memorial donation can be a touching way of remembering those who have been lost to cancer,” said Jenny Stripling, Executive Director of the American Cancer Society’s Knoxville office. “With each donation, you are contributing to the American Cancer Society’s mission of eliminating cancer through research, education, advocacy and patient support.”
Memorial donations are accepted in any amount. Upon receipt of the donation, the American Cancer Society sends a card to the family of the person being remembered acknowledging the donation.
Approximately 1.2 million new cases of cancer will be diagnosed this year in the U.S. and 500,000 people will lose their lives to cancer.
For more information about memorials or to make a donation, call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345 or visit www.cancer.org.
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.
