What a shock Donald Bass had when he returned to his 1992 Trooper after getting something out of his house at 221 Westmorland Court in Seymour, only to find his car missing around 9:10 a.m. last Saturday morning.
“I went into my house to get something and when I came out, the car was gone. I looked around and found it down my driveway and across the street butted up to my neighbors Toyota Tundra,” stated Bass.
“We heard a big bang that woke us out of a nice sleep,” said Brian and Donna Smith, Bass’s neighbors and owners of the Tundra. “We got dressed and came out to discover the unexpected intrusion.”
“I guess I must have forgotten to set the brake and left it in neutral when I went inside,” said Bass.
That oversight cased the Trooper to hit the Tundra which was forced forward approximately three feet to smash into the carport supporting beam and finally into a Toyota Solara. Since all vehicles were unoccupied, there were no injuries.
Bass had received a phone call from his daughter to meet her at Wal-Mart for some Christmas shopping. It was unknown at press time if Bass made it to Wal-Mart that day.
