It seems like every other day that someone stops by the Seymour Herald offices to give us a story idea.
Whether it be a birth, wedding, funeral, graduation, illness, death, arrest, birthday, sports, fire, floods, or accidents, it seems everybody has a story to tell.
So the idea has come up to find an ordinary, average, everyday person and tell their story. Tell what makes the particular person happy, sad, angry or glad or just anything that the chosen person has to say.
You may think that there is nothing exceptional about you, but it is a proven fact (we think) that everybody has at least one interesting story.
It’s not that the staff here at the Seymour Herald is running short on story ideas, but as was before mentioned, people are always coming in with these unbelievable stories.
One of the network news stations has recently been doing a similar piece where they look through a phone book, pick a random name, find the person, and tell their story.
We’re going to borrow their idea, sort of. Beginning next week and continuing through January, a member of the Herald staff will randomly pick a name from the phone book and one of our staff writers will call the chosen person and do a feature story on the individual and/or their family.
Stay by your phone, we may be calling you!
