Local Longaberger sales consultant
The Longaberger Company, America’s premier maker of handcrafted baskets, recognized Bryanne (Jo) Hart from Seymour as a 2002 National Top Sales Award Winner at its annual convention held in Columbus, Ohio.
Longaberger is a direct sales company, with more than 70,000 Independent Sales Consultants nationwide that sell Longaberger baskets and home and lifestyle products, including pottery, fabric accessories and wrought iron, through home shows. All the products are made in America. Hart has received the award for Sales achiever – $20,000-$34,999.
The theme of the convention, “Proud of Our Story, Proud of Our Craft, Proud to be American, Proudly Longaberger,” set the tone for the four-day national convention, which attracted approximately 14,000 Longaberger Independent Sales Consultants and guests from around the U.S. Attendees had the opportunity to network with other consultants from around the nation, view new products and participate in the awards and recognition ceremonies.
The company, based in Newark, Ohio, has approximately 7,000 employees and is led by President and CEO Tami Longaberger. The company is listed in ‘Forbes’ magazine’s top 500 privately held companies, is recognized as the 18th largest woman-owned company in the U.S. by ‘Working Woman’ magazine and has been cited by Newman’s Own, as one of the 10 Most Generous Companies in America.
Hart has been with the company for over 10 years and loves it. “I get so excited showing the line to people. Just talking about Longaberger gets me excited.” Hart has hundreds of baskets in her own collection. “They are everywhere in my home. I’m hoping this fall to have an open house and then everyone can see them,” says Hart. Seymour, to my knowledge, has two local representatives including Joanne McMahan who teaches first grade at Seymour Primary School.
