Max Shoffner
Age 64 passed away Friday, August 9th at his residence. His wife Juanita and stepson Rod Anderson of Maryville survived Mr. Shoffner. Family received friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. last Tuesday, August 13th at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service followed at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Caldwell officiating. Interment was at 10 a.m. this past Friday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family received friends from 5-7:00 p.m. last Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.

April 25, 1922 – August 12, 2002, USA – of Kodak, TN died Monday, August 12, 2002 at his home. Funeral Home: Atchley Funeral Home. Cemetery: Arlington National Cemetery. He was a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg; former member of the Gatlinburg Rotary Club and a member of the Sevierville Rotary Club; Former Director of the Gatlinburg Convention Center; former Director of Sevier County United Way; and former Commander of the Gatlinburg American Legion Post # 202. He was a member of Ft. Monroe Retirement Council; received his diploma from U.S. Command and General Staff College; diploma from Industrial College of the Armed Forces; diploma from U.S. Army Logistics Management Center; certificate of completion from U.S. Army Artillery and Missile School; diploma from U.S. Army War College.
Survivors: Wife: Martha Poteet Greene, Kodak Funeral service 7:30 PM Friday in The Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. The family received friends from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
