Does your dog have a cough? Maybe your cat has not been her usual mischievous self.
Then Dr. Susan Sterling can help, as she has helped hundreds of animals over the years. Dr. Sterling is the owner of Smoky Mountain Animal Clinic and has worked with everything from pot-bellied pigs to llamas to your regular household cats and dogs. But what cat or dog is really ordinary? Dr. Sterling treats each like a member of her own family.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee Veterans School, (the second class ever to graduate, says Sterling), she has been a practicing Veterinarian since 1980. “I treat all types of small ruminants,” states Sterling. “I don’t really specialize. I treat dogs, cats, pigs, rabbits, sheep and goats as well as pot bellied pigs.”
Sterling is assisted by members of her staff, veterinary assistants Karen Callis and Blake McChesney along with office receptionist Michelle Holbrook, who work as a team whether it’s calming the nerves of your loving pet by stroking its back, or distracting your dog while he gets his yearly rabies shot. It’s obvious that to the staff, this is not just a job. It’s something they love doing.
The Smoky Mountain Animal Clinic is opened Monday through Saturday and is located at 10718 Chapman Hwy. Suite 10 in Seymour, across from the Krogers Shopping Center. Just look for the red door. For more information on their complete hours and what they have to offer give them a call at 577-4861.
