As the quality, content, and reporting in The Seymour Herald continues to improve with each issue, publisher Joseph Karl has struck a deal with Cagle Cartoons to provide high quality, professional, timely political cartoons.
Daryl Cagle, former President of the Cartoonists Association, has just forged a deal with The Seymour Herald to run his company’s political cartoons every week.
Cagle Cartoons is a syndicated cartoon association that includes several professional and prolific artists. Started 25 years ago, it is the largest syndicated cartoon organization in the country. Not owned by a corporation, it features seven of the top artists in the world. Ironically, all of the top seven artists happen to be American. One of those famed cartoonists happens to be Jeff Parker. Parker is one of the artists who has been illustrating Blondie, since the original creator’s death.
Daryl Cagle has had a creative career outside of cartoons. He was a toy inventor for Mattel as well as Hasbro and several of his inventions were marketed. He also worked with Jim Henson in New York for ten years. “His cartoon pigs and frogs tend to resemble Miss Piggy or Kermit,” said Cari Dawson, head of public relations for Cagle Cartoons.
Cagle Cartoons have a couple of interesting notes. They are required reading for Civics classes taught in California and the Cagle Cartoon website is one of the top 25 in the world, with 5 million hits a month!
The Seymour Herald is proud to welcome them to the paper. A new cartoon will run every week in the editorial section.
