This past Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the Sevierville City Hall celebrated their grand opening to lots of hoopla. The warm weather did not deter the many children who enjoyed themselves on the moon walker and other games available. Along with the rides was face painting, clowns giving away balloons and some wonderful bar-b-que sandwiches. Officer Troy Sellars along with K-9 Hans greeted visitors along with the Sevier Sheriff’s Department. Rides were made available from the Sevierville Fire Department on their extension latter. Definitely not something you would want to do if you do not like heights.
The Boy Scout raised the flags to the center to kick off the event followed by a Ribbon Cutting performed by the Mayor of the City of Sevierville Bryan Atchley, along with Sevier County Executive Larry Waters. Once inside the building, guided tours showed off the new facility with all the amenities. “This is great to have a new building. We have always had older buildings that we needed to remodel, now we have a wonderful new facility,” stated Mayor Atchley.
After many enjoyed the festivities at City Hall several headed over to the new state-of-art bowling alley. With black lights and neon flashing lights going, bowlers listened to tunes on the loud speakers while trying for that perfect score. The best part of the bowling experience is that it was free! Giving everyone a chance to check out the new facility. All in all it was a very successful and fun day!
