The City of Sevierville Fire Department has issued a ban on burning within the City, effective immediately. Sevierville Fire Marshall Tommy White issued the order on Monday, June 24, 2002. “Due to the extremely dry conditions, it has become too dangerous to allow burning within the City at this time,” White said. White added that the ban would be lifted after significant rainfall has occurred. A release will be issued to notify residents when the ban is no longer in effect.
