Young riders display their skills at 4-H Horse Show

The Sevier County 4-H club held their annual horse show on Saturday at the Bays Mountain Saddle Club in Seymour.
Students competed in a total of 38 classes of events ranging from Western Showmanship and grooming to horseback goat tagging.
The horse show is usually on the third Saturday of May but due to relocation and weather the show was pushed back to June 15th.
“It went really well,” said Sevier County 4-H volunteer Malinda Whillock, who helped organize the event. “We had a small crowd but everyone had a good time. The kids worked hard. It’s a hard job to get yourself ready for a show like this, much less, getting your horse ready. The parents did a great job of helping the kids prepare and all of the kids did a wonderful job. We’d especially like to thank Bays Mountain, if not for them there would not have been a show this year.”
