Your children and your schools need you to stand up and fight for what is necessary. The government is very much on the verge of cutting $400 million dollars from the Tennessee education. What that means for you is that your child may not have the textbooks he or she needs, or a desk to sit in, or a teacher’s attention, or an assistant in the classroom………..The list goes on. At Seymour Primary, this cut may force the elimination of 6 teachers. Kindergarten through 2nd grade may have to have 25 students in one class.
Politicians think that we, the voters, aren’t interested in solving the budget problems. They think that we don’t want any tax reform and that we are willing to take the budget cuts. They say that we haven’t let them know what we want.
It is time to let them know. We want the budget balanced, we want tax reform, and we’ll consider downsizing government as long as it doesn’t cut necessary money from our already too low education funds.
Seymour Primary faculty, administration, and Sevier Co. School System encourage you to get involved. Flood our Senator’s and Representative’s e-mail with messages. Let them know:
WE DON’T WANT EDUCATION CUTS!
VOTE “YES” ON TAX REFORM!
VOTE “NO” FOR ANY BUDGET CUTS FROM EDUCATION!
Here are some e-mail addresses to send your letters to:
Please act now. June 30, their deadline is approaching fast. Voting on various issues is coming sooner.
This is truly a plea for our children. We must speak for their future.
