The Seymour High School Academic Foundation held its’ sixth annual banquet last Saturday night in the school gymnasium. A record amount of $20,150 dollars was raised that will be distributed exclusively to facets of SHS academics. After the attendees dined on food donated by the Outback Steakhouse, SHS Principle, Bruce Wilson, took to the podium and introduced the events’ keynote speaker, “The Heartland Series” host Bill Landry. Landry shared some humorous stories with the audience and held the floor for about 40 minutes. Before Landry took the stage, numerous door prizes were drawn and presented to audience members with matching numbers on their dinner tickets. “It was a great opportunity to provide the students with more prospects for their future here at the school”, stated Wilson.
Everyone appreciated the tremendous effort put forth by all the volunteers, the businesses that donated and supported this event and the fantastic effort put forth by Donna Temple, chairperson.
