Become a blood donor today. According to MEDIC Regional Blood Center, each individual donation can save up to three lives. It could be a scary situation if you or someone you loved needed blood and it was not available. Please make arrangements to donate and ensure that your community has a safe and adequate blood supply. Along with the Ailor Avenue Collection Center, which is open 7 days a week, you can also donate at the following mobile locations:
· November 8, Seymour High School, 73 Boyds Creek Highway, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Gym.
· November 9, Sevier County High School, 1200 E. Dolly Parton Pkwy, 8:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m., Room 225
MEDIC must collect 350 units each and every day in order to fulfill community need. They need your help in ensuring a safe and adequate blood supply is available. You never know when an emergency situation will occur, so please become a regular 56-day blood donor.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh more than 110 lbs, and have positive identification. Donors will receive a t-shirt and free cholesterol screening (no fasting required). For more information, please call 865-524-3074.
By donating blood, you are covered under MEDIC’S Family Blood Coverage Program. Family coverage means that a pint of blood donated to the MEDIC Regional Blood Center will ensure your family (IRS Dependents) does not have to pay blood supply processing fees at any hospital in the U.S.
