Grace Baptist Church in Seymour is one of several Baptist Churches around the area who are having a summer bible school with a theme.
Grace Baptist Church’s particular theme for this year is the Amazon Rain Forest, which was one of the themes that were promoted at the Southern Baptist Convention.
Debbie Gibson is the Bible School Director at the church and it was partially her duty to help deck the inside of the building, located on Boyd’s Creek Road in Seymour, with jungle decorations. Eula Flynn and Margaret Garrison also played big roles in decorating church.
“Most Baptist Churches and some that are not Baptist are going with different themes for Bible School,” said Gibson. “Just about every member of the church has done something to help get it ready for Bible School.”
The Bible School begins on Sunday, June 23rd at 6pm and goes through Thursday, June 27th. Family night will be on Friday, June 28th, with old fashion yard games for kids to play.
Grace Baptist Minister Ed Cloud will be involved in the Bible School as the Chaplain and will take part, along with Gibson, in the opening ceremony.
