Lady Eagles basketball moving on up

The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles continue their climb in the polls as they jumped one spot to #15 in this week\’s USA Today/ESPN Division II Women\’s Top 25 College Basketball Poll.
The Lady Eagles, who are now 7-1 on the season, moved up one spot from last week\’s ranking of 16th. Washburn continues to be ranked number one in the nation as they are 7-0 this year.
The Lady Eagles will try to avenge their only loss of the season as they travel for a tournament in Savannah, Georgia on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Eagles play Fayetteville State on Friday at 1 p.m. and then face Armstrong Atlantic, the only team that has beaten C-N this season, on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Lady Eagles ranked among NCAA leaders

The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles are ranked in several team and individual statistical categories in the final NCAA Division II women\’s soccer statistics.
As a team, the Lady Eagles finished the 2005 season 11th in team scoring a 3.32 goals per game and 20th in win-loss-tie percentage at .773. Rebecca Angus was seventh in assist per game (.727) and 18th in points per game (2.27). Freshman Brittany Moore was 18th in assists per game at 0.55.
The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles were 17-5 in 2005 and advanced to their second consecutive NCAA Division II Final Four.
