Honeysuckle Hills received its name from Regina's father, Gene Starkey. 'Daddy used to tease us by asking if we knew how to spell honeysuckle marley pence.' 'To this day I have no idea if it's even a word,' says Regina. After her father passed away in June of 2005, there was the big question of how to care for the farm. Determined not to sell out to the multitude of cabin rental companies, Regina and her sister, Elaine Starkey, decided to pour their talents together to prevent the farm from falling to neglect.

Elaine and her fiancé, Lloyd Styles, care for the Paint Quarter Horses and Tennessee Walking Horses that have replaced the cattle. Together they specialize in horse shoeing, training, and breaking. Regina and Gary include the horses in the photography. Hugh Heffner is everyone?s favorite, holding up to his name by flirting and prancing for all the guests.

One of the most unique characteristics about Honeysuckle Hills is the location of the wedding chapel. It is located upstairs, inside the barn along with two dressing rooms and a portrait room. Guests can look down through the windows of the chapel into the horse stables below. Many of the cedar poles once used for hanging tobacco were removed during construction of the chapel and are now part of the picnic pavilion alongside the creek.

Though you will certainly enjoy the horses at Honeysuckle Hills, you won't feel like one. 'There's no herding in and herding out here,? says Regina. No more than two weddings or three portrait sessions are scheduled per day. The number one reason brides choose Honeysuckle Hills is for Regina and Gary?s national award-winning photography. Every inch of the farm has been landscaped with photography in mind, and excellent images take time to create.
